Brian Meyers Obituary

Brian Dean Meyers

December 18, 1967 - January 4, 2025

Tacoma, Washington - Our beloved son and brother passed away at the age of 57 from cancer. Brian was born in Downey, California in 1967. He was a musical child prodigy who could play the piano and read the encyclopedia at age three. He became a professional musician, playing the synthesizer and touring the country with The Coasters. Brian loved computers, read science fiction, and enjoyed video games and art. Mental illness devastated Brian's "beautiful mind," eventually leaving him unable to cooperate with doctors trying to save his life. His neighbors at Wright Park House were patient and loving toward Brian, and now that he's gone, the family is grateful he felt he was among friends. He is survived by his loving mother, Kathleen Waters of Tacoma, sisters Rachael Waters, Elizabeth Waters, Nancy Waters, Suzanne Waters, and Julia Waters, and by his brothers Daniel Berwick and Robert Berwick. A service to celebrate Brian's life will be held at Saint Patrick's Church on Friday, January 10, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. Brian's warmth, generosity, and joyful original music will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
