James Kadyk Obituary
April 10, 1943 - December 11, 2023
Spokane, Washington - Jim worked at the The Tacoma News Tribune, Bremerton Sun, The Daily Olympian, The Journal of the San Juan Islands and eventually became the owner of the Quincy Valley Post Register. Jim was also the original owner of JK Sports and Evergreen Wholesale Sports in Puyallup. He is survived by his wife, Joan (Walker) Kadyk, children, Joy Kadyk Pipgras (Jared), Jonathan Kadyk (Carolyn) of Spokane, and seven grandchildren, siblings, Nancy Clifton of Everett and David Kadyk (Anita) of Tacoma.

I was thinking about Jim and Joan just the other day when I drove past the Kadyk's former Tacoma home just off Waller Road. Jim was a guy that made you happier just to be around. I picture his big smiling face and cheerful disposition even in the face of breaking news and encroaching deadlines on the copy desk at The News Tribune where I first met him. He was quick-witted and discerning as a news man, but at heart was always a businessman. It was an honor and a pleasure to share life and work with you Jim. Rest in piece, my friend.
