James Moody Obituary

James Moody

November 26, 1954 - October 27, 2023

Puyallup, Washington - James Alan Moody (Jim) passed away the morning of October 27, 2023. He was currently residing at Linden Grove Nursing Home, and prior to that at Julian Estates. He was a long-time resident of Puyallup, WA and lived in Pierce County for the majority of his life.

He was born in Arkansas on November 26, 1954 and moved to Tacoma as a child. He attended Stadium High school, followed by serving in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Upon his return, he worked numerous jobs from fishing in Alaska, to welding, to owning his own bar for a short period of time. In his later years he could be found hanging out with his good friends at the E-Z Loans Pawn Shop, where he was probably best known for chatting with customers and making anyone a good deal.

Jim loved tinkering with jewelry, making custom holsters, and working on one of his many guns, which he collected avidly. Besides his love for anything crafty, he was a loyal and dear friend to many. Anyone who knew Jim, knew that he was a great storyteller and could sit and chat with just about anyone. But above all, his greatest achievement was his family. Jim was very proud of his children and grandchildren, often referring to them as his greatest legacy. He is survived by his sons Ryan (Holly), James (Briana), Robert (Rachal), daughter Jennifer, and 16 grandchildren.

A memorial will be held at his son's home on November 26th which would have been Jim's 69th birthday. If you would like to attend, please contact Ryan at 253-651-5244 for details.
