Tacoma, Washington - James R. Gallwas also known as "Jim Superman" was born on May 12,1932 in Tacoma Washington. He passed away on November 26, 2024 in Tacoma. Jim passed away peacefully in his home in his recliner chair. He graduated from Bellarmine in 1950, and attended Seattle University. He joined the army in early 1950 and traveled in Europe. He then worked in construction, he was commercial fisherman in Alaska, and worked in the Tacoma Police Department. Jim retired as a Captain on the Police Department. He loved sports and very athletic in his younger years, especially baseball. His dream in his younger years was to be a baseball coach. Jim loved animals, especially dogs. He is survived by his daughter Lynn, son-in law Bob Stark; two sisters, Sharon Berthiaume and Susie Sundahl. Please join Jim's Celebration Of Life on December 5,2024 from 11:00 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Knapp's Restaurant, 2707 N Proctor Tacoma, WA 98407. Any donations please donate to Paws helping animals. Jim will be greatly missed.
