Patricia and Jim,
Don and I are so sorry for your loss. Losing a parent leaves a void that can never be filled. My hope for you is that you know the consolation of the last line in the obituary--"Leaving family and friends with many wonderful and amazing memories, he is now with Jesus, and reunited with Sally for eternity."

I know that my Grandpa loved all of us grandkids unconditionally. I always remember his visits to Vancouver, where he would take us out for Wendy's. He was a wonderfully kind man, even after his alzheimers. While he was going through his last days, I visited him, and although he was slipping in and out of a coma, when I held his hand, he opened his eyes and reached out to stroke my cheek. I will miss him so much, but I'm so happy that he can be healthy again, and be with Nana Sally and Jesus.

Remarkable men and women lead remarkable lives, as Mr. Shaw's unmistakably was. How proud you all must be of your father. To Joel and your entire family, my deepest sympathy for your loss. May you continue to find solace in one another for years to come.

Though I never met John, if his children are any indication of the kind of man he was, I am the worse for it. An apple does not fall far from the tree and I can only imagine the pride he must have felt for all his children.

WE (Sea Scouts) and I, will miss John. His always cheerful smile and excitement helped on those days whenit was rainey and cold on the water. He was a great personj.

We know that John and Sally are now happy in a perfect setting. Although it will be difficult at times to face days without them it is very comforting, we are sure, to know they no longer hurt and have to be apart from each other.
We have been so impressed by the love and attention that you 4 siblings have shown to them during the past year and more. Blessings to each one of you and to the rest of the family.
