Karen Wilson Obituary
May 29, 1953 - November 26, 2023
Tacoma, Washington - Karen had an adventurous soul and she lived life. The spirit that lived within Karen took her many places.
She was independent and always said she could do it herself. As a young woman living in Seattle she earned her cosmetology degree. Later she moved back home and pursued her passion of nursing. Karen earned her BSN from PLU and worked as an RN, enjoying the life of a traveling nurse. She would bookend contracts with vacations that took her around the world.
Family was big for Karen, hugs were aplenty, and the kids were her favorites. They always knew a present from Auntie was an outfit, usually pajamas!
Karen is preceded in death by her parents and the love of her life Darcy. She always said she would see him again. Left behind is her daughter Jamie, three grandchildren, four great grandchildren, sister Sheri, brothers Doug (Kathy) and Bob (Cindy), nieces, nephews, and of course her best friend and travel buddy Mary.
Karen danced to her own music, and although the song has ended we still hum the melody.

My husband and I met Karen in Paris. We spent 3 days with her there and then went our own ways. We remained in touch over the years and on three occasions she came to Canada to visit with us. We planned on coming to visit her in her new house this summer . . . very sad.

My heart goes out to each of Karen´s family. ~ I´m sorry I didn´t catch up & tell you how much I have always admired you!! Note to myself....sorry doesn´t mean much now. Rest in peace my friend.

This is such a difficult time and hard to know really what to say.
I was in shock when I heard about Karen.
I feel so sad that she will never get to live in her new home. She would of been my neighbor.
We got together everytime she got to come to the beach. We were looking forward to more fun times ahead.
Karen will be missed and never forgotten.
