Its been a while since I put a message on your book . Things are not the same anymore for everyone that knew you and loved you . No matter what happened in my life you were always so polite to me I remember one day when I was walking on the trail outside of Orting you stopped on your bike and told me to be careful walking alone . No one had ever said that to me and I thought wow how cool it was that you would be concerned about me . I wish now that we could of spent more time talking but you were on a mission to ride your bike and I had my goal of walking a few miles . Every time I see those posters of you I cry because its so heart breaking to know that your not coming back . I know that your in heaven with your mom and that brings a little comfort to me but just knowing that you can't physically be here with Nickie is heart wrenching . I've known you for many many years and I feel you were taken way to soon from us . There's a song from Garth Brooks and I dedicate it to you . The title is If Tomorrow Never Comes , I cry every time I hear it . I ask the kids if they thought it was fitting and they all agreed the words in that song are so true to how you are to Nickie , you are an amazing man , and she knows what you two have and I feel that your love for her won't ever go away . I wish there was something I could do to help her with the pain of loosing you but I don't know what I can do . She doesn't talk about things and I can't blame her for that . Our love for you will never die . Rest in peace we love and miss you .

Nickie: I sat on the other side of Mike's cube at KeyBank for over five years. I am so sorry I was unable to attend his memorial but I was hospitalized at UW Medical. Even though we were in different departments (I was in IT) I will always remember the talks we had about hunting and fishing. Mike was a gentleman and always had a smile or joke for you. He will be missed!

It was with a sorrowful heart that I read about Mike's passing. I graduated from OHS with Mike. I haven't lived in the Valley since 1978, but my heart is in Orting and the people that make it so special. It was an amazing place to grow up. RIP Mike. So glad you were loved by so many and that you lived your life well.

Nickie, I worked with you at the Soldiers' Home many years ago. I want to say anything right now to help ease your pain, but there are no words for this! So instead I will do the only thing I can, & that is to pray for the strong beautiful woman I became so fond of!

Even in your passing you still manage to make so many people show up for an event, you are loved by so many people young and old and will be truly missed but not forgotten . I don't think I've ever seen a more beautiful service and such a touching one , your send off was the best I've ever seen and heard ,the elk noise made me smile because I knew when you heard that sound during hunting season you got that big smile on your face to . I'am so blessed to of been able to call you my brother in law but really you were more than that , you and Nickie were always there when we needed you whether it be in an emergency for one of the kids or a birthday party you always lite up a room . I went to the Indian Smoke Shop yesterday and a person in there was saying how you always had a smile on your face and was the sweetest person she talked to as you bought your cigarette's at the drive through . I know you are looking down and seeing all the nice things that family and friends are doing in your honor and memory . Everyone has been so supportive of Nickie , she said to me that she hasn't ever hugged so many people in her life . She to is well loved . I will write to you again soon . RIP MIKE . Love your sister in law Brenda

I was the first person to see Micheal behind a desk...his boss at RCH where he learned computer skills after an injury. He was so awkward but I always knew he would go far. The last time I saw him he told me he believed it too. I wish we had more time to see just how far he was to go.

I'm glad I had the opportunity to know Michael. What an amazing man! His smile will be engraved in my memory forever. It's the little things, but knowing I won't see his big black truck parked outside work anymore chokes me up every time I think about it.

My thoughts and prayers are with the family.

What words? Like everyone I am gonna miss you terribly. I will never forget how you taught me to successfully gut a fish. A girl needs to know these things ;) I find peace in knowing that you are with Jesus and that I will get to see you again.

Uncle Mike gave Cola and I the "sink or swim" lessons when we were younger. It consisted of pushing us off the dock and telling us to try to swim. Lol. He taught us to tread water. He tried to teach us how to dive, but that never really worked out so well for me. Without him, we may never have learned to swim.
He also tried to teach us to fish. I wasn't too into the whole worm thing though.
And then there was the time he tried to teach me to catch a baseball. Yah, it's even scarier when a big dude is tossing a baseball towards a little bitty girl. Lol. But it was the thought that counted. He was there for me when I needed him.
He taught me how to make a professional resume too. Thanks to him, I was in the top 2 interviews at an Accounting company out of 1000 people!
Thanks Uncle Mike for all that you did! We will certainly be missing you.
Love, your niece, Amy

My heart ached of the news and broke when I thought how precious you are Nikki and all the painful loss you are coping with now along with Mikes family. I worked with both your parents along with you Nikki and I am praying you have peace and resolve in the midst of this storm. I am an outdoors man like Mike and I truly believe this shook many of us to the core. I'm glad I went up to you both at the Christmas party and met your Mike for the first time. I was really hoping to get to know him. I don't know what else to say except Nikki you are a wonderful person and loved by all of us and we join you in your sorrow and grief.

You have always been a huge part of our family and will always be remembered and terribly missed. I will never forget our childhood on the "40". We had a great childhood growing up together, me, Debbie, Joe, Lori, Dan, You, Carla, Lynn, Joan, and Anna and never in my wildest dreams would I have ever thought I would be saying goodby to you so soon. So many people are missing you. You were such a positive and loving man. I know how much you love Nickie and she loves you too. WE all do! Say hi to your mom and my dad for me. There's isn't any words that can describe what a loss we all feel . You made a big impact on so many people through out the years . I was blessed to know you and your amazing wife Nickie . You will always be a part of my family no matter what happens in life . You were a great Uncle to my 7 kids , you showed them how to swim took some of them fishing and you and Nickie came to so many of the birthday parties . There was one time that you and Nickie helped me out so much and it was when Jerry and I had our last baby Cortney and she had complications right after she was born . You two stayed closed to me at the hospital and even were able to go into the nursery to sit by Cortney's incubator while Jerry and I tried to get some rest . Thank You for always being there for my family . Your heart is as big as you are , I remember standing next to Nickie on your wedding day and I loved it , yes I was nervous but probably not as much as you . When you said those vows , you meant what you said because you did take good care of your family and you did protect your wife . Thank You for doing that . Now its our turn to continue where you left off and that is to protect and make sure Nickie has everything she need's , she is the most giving person and the sweetest that I have ever known. We have known each other since she was 11 years old . So we go way back . Getting to know you was the the best thing because I got to see the other half of Nickie's life . I feel that even though your not physically here on earth anymore that it won't stop you from watching over you family especially your loving wife and partner Nickie . I will write again soon , rest in peace now Mike . Love your sister in law Brenda
