OWEN WOOLARD

Owen F. Woolard 8/12/1929-4/05/2014 Born in Tacoma, WA, Owen was a third generation employee of the Tacoma Smelter, being the youngest person hired at age 17. He worked there 37 years. Owen began playing drums in local bars at the age of 18. He continued his professional career playing at the New Yorker for 14 years with Art Mineo & band. In addition, Owen played at local hotspots such as The Top of The Ocean and the Troubadour. He resided in Las Vegas, NV with his daughter Jane for the past 13 years of his life. Owen is survived by his son Kenneth Woolard of Tacoma, step-son Greg Hesse of Spokane, and daughter Jane Knutson of Las Vegas, NV, he also leaves behind several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
