David Forrest Obituary

David Frank Forrest, Sr., age 75, of Norman, passed away on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Forrest attended Clearspring Baptist Church.

David dedicated 30 years to working at Cummins Engine Co. before his retirement.

Mr. Forrest cherished his family and enjoyed spending quality time with them. David was a passionate outdoorsman, who loved caring for his dogs, hunting, and fishing. He also loved playing cards.

Born on October 31, 1949, in Seymour, David was the son of Frank and Virginia (Waggoner) Forrest, both of whom preceded him in death. On December 9, 1967, at Ratcliff Grove Christian Church, he married Arlene Starr, and she survives in Norman.

Survivors also include one son, David Frank (Missy) Forrest, Jr. of Norman; one daughter, Angie Lee Ann (Bobby) Petro of Norman; three grandchildren: Shane Fox of Boyton Beach, Florida, Kaleigh (Corbin) Cain of Norman, and Cole (Macy) Forrest of Norman; four great-grandchildren: Brinleigh Cain, Brooks Cain, Silas Forrest, and Miller Forrest, all of Norman; and one brother-in-law, Melvin "Willie" Hurd.

Besides his parents, David was also preceded in death by one sister, Faith Ann Hurd.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the caring staff of Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc.
