Kennewick, Washington - Alice Jane Chapman, 94, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2022, after a short illness. She was born on May 12, 1928, to Thorvald and Edith Kaas in Richland, Washington, an only girl with five brothers. Alice graduated from Kennewick High School in 1945 and married her beloved husband, James, in 1949. They enjoyed 66 wonderful years together before James' passing in 2015.
Alice is survived by her brother, Norman Kaas, her children, Gary (Carol) Chapman, Becki (John) Rosenau and Brenda (Andrew) Bor, grandchildren, Tony (Christiane) Chapman, Tami (Daren) McLean, Krystal (Jacob) Rosenau, Heather (Tyler) Ellingson, Daniel Bor, Fiona Bor, along with great grandchildren, Vesper McLean, Renlen and Marlo Chapman, John and Barrett Rosenau, Jared Ellingson and a baby girl on the way.
Alice was devoted to her faith, her family and dear to all who were part of her life.
Services will be held at Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home, 1401 S Union St. in Kennewick on Thursday, January 5th at 11:00am. Luncheon to follow.

We just read online about Alice's death. Oh, I would loved to have seen her one more time! You couldn't ask for a better friend. Our best years were in the late 60's. So precious. She sewed me a whole wardrove...so talented!!!!

A visit with my father at Brookdale Assisted Living was often accompanied by a visit with his next door neighbor and caring friend, Alice. Her sharp mind and love for her family were always evident in our many chats. It was a joy knowing her and she will be fondly remembered. May the sweet memories you have of Alice bring peace and joy in the days ahead.
