ANNA STEELE "ANN" Anna "Ann" Steele, 96, a lifelong Wenatchee resident, passed away on Monday July 10, 2017 at Trios Health, Kennewick General Hospital, following a sudden illness. She was born on September 3, 1920 in Sunnyslope to the late David Berton "Bert" and Lucinda (Baughman) Steele. Ann was raised and schooled in Sunny-slope and graduated from Sunny-slope High School in 1938. She continued her Education at Wenatchee Business College, followed by working as a secretary for Columbia Services, Inc. She moved into Wenatchee proper in 1948 to be closer to work. Ann was employed at Wenatchee Federal Savings and Loan in 1965 and remained there through the transition of it becoming Columbia Federal Savings and Loan. In1988, when she was 68 years old, she retired and remained in Wenatchee until recently moving to Kennewick. Ann was raised in Sunnyslope Church of the Brethren later becoming a member of Wenatchee First United Methodist Church, where she has been a longtime member. She was an active supporter of "Wind of the Spirit:" and "World Map". Ann enjoyed gardening; she was an avid reader, watched Fox News, and loved Bible Studies at the Church. When she was younger, she liked going out golfing. Although her time in Kennewick was brief, Ann made a large group of friends who immediately loved her and included her in their table group for lunch and dinner every day. She was a delightful addition whom introduced them to the joy of ice cream for dessert at every meal. We are very grateful to the residents and staff at Hawthorne Court who helped her settle in to her new surroundings and quickly made her a part of their "family". Having her here was wonderful. Ann is survived by nine nieces and nephews and was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Vern, Earl, John, Millard, Elmon Steele, and three nieces and nephews. Viewing for Ann will be on Thursday, July 27, 2017 from 1:00-5:00pm at Heritage Memorial Chapel, East Wenatchee. Funeral Services will be on Friday, July 28, 2017 1:00pm at the First United Methodist Church in Wenatchee, and graveside services will be prior at 10:00am at the Sunnyslope Cemetery.
