ANNABELLE RISHER Obituary
Annabelle Stark Risher, 78, passed away at the Monarch Home in Lincoln, Nebraska, November 12, 2011, due to congestive heart failure. She had the peace of being surrounded by her niece, Fanchon Ling Blythe when she began the next step in life's journey.
Annabelle was born July 1, 1933, at the Deaconess Hospital in Spokane, WA, to John Frederick and Neta Anna (Schalock) Stark of Waukon, WA. She spent her childhood on the family wheat ranch and attended school in Reardan, WA graduating with the class of 1951. She received a diploma, Study in Business Administration from Kinman Business University, Spokane, WA, in 1952.
Annabelle started working for General Electric Company, October 31, 1952. Along with her twin sister Donna, they loved in the women's dormitories in downtown Richland, provided by AEC for single employees in town, and dined at the community cafeteria 'The Mart'. This was their first venture into the business world. She was employed at Darigold for a few years before her employment with the Department of Energy until retirement May 18, 1990.
On September 3, 1959, she married Francis Jennings Risher, Jr. at Pasco, WA.
Annabelle was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary, Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States, National Association of Retired Federal Employees (NARFE) and Richland Lutheran Church.
On November 1, 1995, Annabelle moved to Hope Mills, NC to be near her son and family. Annabelle has been living with her niece Fanchon Ling Blythe and family since March, 2009 in Roca, NE. Annabelle moved to Legacy Estates, Lincoln, NE February 28, 2011. She enjoyed embroidering tea towels, puzzle books, jigsaw puzzles, solitaire, traveling with 55+, bowling, golf, health clubs and being a volunteer at hospital auxiliaries.
Annabelle is survived by her son, Willard Scott, Alexandria, VA; former daughter-in-law, Shirley and grandson, Eric Scott of Fayetteville, NC; twin sister Donnabelle Stark Ling and brother-in-law Frank of Richland, WA; sister Mildred Stark Doty of Everett, WA; brother John (Jack) Stark of Spokane, WA special niece Fanchon Ling Blythe and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Annabelle was preceded in death by her mother March 14, 1994; and father, September 1, 1976; sister Helen Stark Hendricks, May 24, 1986; and husband, Francis 1974.
