Dale Bartholomew Obituary

Dale Bartholomew
April 7, 1930 - July 21, 2023
West Richland, Washington - Dale Bartholomew went to be with the Lord on July 21, 2023. He was born in Milwaukee, WI and lived in Eau Claire, WI until he went to the University of Wisconsin receiving a degree in Metallurgical Engineering. He worked in numerous locations as an Engineer including Pittsburgh, PA and San Diego, CA before moving to the Tri-Cities in 1976. When he moved to Richland he became Manager of Engineering at Atlantic Richfield Company, later becoming Director of Operations at Rockwell Hanford.
Dale loved Jesus will all his heart, and believed that life was all about loving others and helping them in any way possible. This led him to many volunteer activities including The United Way, Kiwanis, The Gideons International, Association of Quality and Participation (AQP), and many others. In retirement, he started his own consulting company where he mentored leaders of several local businesses.
Dale is survived by his wife of over 40 years Kathleen; son Scott and his wife Tina, daughter Jill Maas and her husband Dean; grandchildren Jason Maas (Erin), and Nicole Neufeld (Jeremy); and new great-grandson Elijah Neufeld.
Dale was a gentle, kind, and loving man and will be sorely missed by all who were blessed to have known him. The family requests that donations be made to the Gideon's in lieu of flowers, which can be done at the funeral or at gideons.org. The funeral will be July 29 at 1 pm at Central Church 1124 Stevens Drive Richland.

I think of Dale often, and I always smile when I think of him. He was such a kind and caring man, always willing to help others. In our professional organization (AQP) he set a great example for everyone in how to listen, communicate, and encourage new ideas. He recognized and showed appreciation for the skills and talents of others. I was blessed to know Dale and to work with him on many projects.

Scott , my heart goes out to you and your family. We just lost our Father on June 3rd and it was and is the hardest thing I have ever gone through. I know that he is with Jesus and that is comfort, but I miss him. :( I am praying for your heartache; I know how much you love him. Take care of yourself my friend.

Sincere condolences to Dale's family... We first worked (volunteered) with Dale through the local chapter of the Association for Quality & Participation (AQP). He helped start the chapter and worked hard to recruit members, find speakers, and make the chapter successful - which it was. He was a true Quality champion in every sense of the word - great at encouraging and giving credit to others, and always willing to do whatever was needed. He will truly be missed. May your many great memories of times spent together, and the love of family and friends comfort you.
