Richland, Washington - Dave was ushered into Heaven to meet his Savior, Jesus Christ, as his wife of 63 years held his hand. He married his high school sweetheart, Sharon Panther, in 1959 and together they had three children: Timm (Lori) Taff, Michelle Filbert, and Renae (Wes) Parker. He was blessed with eight grandchildren: Gunnar (Hannah) Parker, Ben Taff, Garrett Filbert, Mackenzie Parker, Jared Filbert, Harley Taff, Joey (Trevor) Peterson, and Taylor Taff.
Dave was born in Ohio and moved to California as a youngster. He attended three different high schools in southern California where he excelled in football, baseball, and basketball. His senior year he attended Columbia High School in Richland, graduating in 1956. He enlisted in the Army as a reservist in 1957 and served in Ft. Gordon GA in the combat engineers.
He loved horses and especially mules. Dave worked at PNNL in 1958 for a year assisting with the care of the beagles, miniature pigs, and pigmy goats. He managed the Richland Riding Academy for a year, honing his skills as a horse shoer. Most of his married life was spent on a ranch in Whitstran where he raised, trained, and shod horses and mules. In the Fall, Dave packed hunters into Montana, Idaho, and Washington or went to the mountains with his friends. He also served as a lay pastor at rural churches.
Also surviving Dave is sister, Edith (Rich) David, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Pastor C. Allen and Maitle Taff, and sister Marian Parker.
