DOLORES MICHAELS Obituary

DOLORES MICHAELS Dolores Michaels, of Richland, WA, who formerly resided in Sun Lakes for 14 years, died on January 11th, 2018 at the age of 84. She was born on April 19th, 1933 in Bridgeton, New Jersey. She had a passion for education and earned her bachelor's, masters and doctoral degrees. She married Thomas Elwood Jacobs and had five children, Debra Ann Jacobs, Pamela Sue Hilt, Barbara Jean Aalgaard, Mary Beth Jones and Thomas Arthur Olson. She later re-married to Darrell Olson who adopted three of her children. She spent her career serving others in the educational field, holding positions as an instructor, principal and superintendent for many schools in Washington State. She also later, after retirement, continued to help schools in need writing grants for educational funding. She was smart, witty and enjoyed reading, watching movies and playing board games such as Scrabble. She loved her grandchildren, Kaysi Michelle Hilt, Sarah Michelle Henderson, Jonathan Roger Olson, Joshua Thomas Olson, Alix Michael Aalgaard, Matthew Lang Olson, Debra Ann Jones and Brandon Lee Aalgaard. She also deeply loved her eight great grandchildren all of whom she had pleasure of spending time with. A memorial service will be held privately by the family in the spring of 2018. All memorial donations may be mailed to PBS Television in her honor.
