GINA LUPPINO Obituary

Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home

Gina M. Luppino, 54, of Pasco, WA, was welcomed into the kingdom of Heaven on July 3, 2014. She was born to parents Nancy and Gene Luppino on August 26, 1959 in Yakima, WA. She grew up in Richland, WA and moved with her parents to Kennewick, WA in 1973 where she attended and graduated Kamiakin High School. She then moved on to University of Puget Sound, where she met her husband. They were married on March 17, 1978 and lived in Tri-Cities, WA where they had and raised 3 daughters. They were divorced in 2003.

Gina went back to college in 1987 to pursue her dream of becoming a teacher. She graduated from Eastern Washington University in 1990. She was hired as a teacher at Vista Elementary in Kennewick, WA in 1991. She eventually went on to complete a Master's Degree in Education in 2001 from Grand Canyon University. She completed her last years as a fifth grade teacher at Cottonwood Elementary in Kennewick, WA. Teaching was Gina's passion. She loved working with her students to see them succeed.

Gina loved spending time with her family. Some of her hobbies include shopping, reading, gardening, singing, and going to the movies (she especially loved popcorn with extra butter and chocolate).

Gina was selfless and loving. She brought joy and laughter to all who crossed her path. Those who know her could always count on Gina for a hug and a smile. She was cherished in life, will be lovingly remembered in death and missed every single day.

She is survived by her three daughters, Angela Hamel, Melissa Luppino, Trysta Luppino; three grandchildren, Nisha, Ava, Mila; her Mom, Nancy Luppino; her Grandfather, Gerald Hollaway; her two sisters, Renee Barney, Teresa; her brother, Tony.

She is preceded in death by her Father, Gene Luppino; her Grandmothers, Alma Hollaway and Glenna Luppino; her Grandfather Donald Luppino.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 10 at 1 pm at Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral, 1401 S. Union Street., Kennewick, WA. Viewing will be held at Mueller's July 9, from 5 pm to 8 pm.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Lustgarten Foundation (for pancreatic cancer research) or Autism Speaks. Both of these charities were important to Gina.

Memories... Sweet memories...Gina danced on the heart of many. Her personality was inspiring. Her passion for people was obvious. She loved her students and was a very dedicated teacher. I worked with her for a short 5 years at Cottonwood and she was always someone I enjoyed and appreciated. I am so sorry to have missed her services. I was on cruise and there was no way to be here. My heart and prayers are with you. May the healing hands of time find her memory dancing on your heart.
With love... Brenda Mehlenbacher

I offer my sincere condolences to Gina's family for their loss. I met Gina two years ago when she taught my granddaughter Analisa Swanby. I know my granddaughter loved Mrs. Luppino. Gina was a wonderful person and teacher. It was obvious teaching was a passion for her and she truly loved her students. I cannot put in words how sorry I am to hear she has passed. I know all the wonderful memories of her will live on forever in your hearts. May God Bless you and give you strength during this difficult time of grieving. God Bless, Jamie Perez-Carter
