ISABELLE FRANCES SILVER

Isabelle, the seventh of eight children, was born to Croatia/ Austria immigrants, John and Mary Verzuh on December 28, 1913. She left us on May 15, 2012.

Isabelle was working in a laundry when a local fireman, Morris Silver became a repeat customer. They were married in 1937 in Glasgow, MT.

The couple then moved to the Portland, Oregon area where they both worked in the shipyards during World War II.

Following the birth of their three children, the family relocated to Richland, WA where Morris was employed by General Electric. The farm, located in Benton City, WA was purchased in 1951.

Isabelle was blessed with a 'green thumb' and was well known for her beautiful roses, chrysanthemums, peonies and iris. She was also fondly remembered for her homemade wines.

Isabelle became an avid bowler, enjoyed square dancing, shopping and lovely lunches in town. She and Morris spent many hours playing cribbage and pinochle with mutual friends.

Following retirement, Morris and Isabelle became 'snowbirds' spending their winters in Quartzsite, AZ. Isabelle enjoyed this lifestyle for 26 years and always looked forward to time spent with her Arizona family.

Mom was blessed with excellent mental and physical health for ninety eight years. We were blessed to have many wonderful years with her.

Isabelle was preceded in death by her parents, seven siblings, husband, Morris Silver, son, Richard Jon Silver and son-in-law, Gary Roberts.

She is survived by her son, David (Anna) Silver of Clarkston, WA, daughter, Valerie Roberts of Richland, WA, good and faithful friend, Margie Morse. Nana to grandchildren; Jeannie, Susan, Rich & Ron Silver, Mike and Megan Roberts and Melanie Hall. Great-grandchildren; Jon, Whitney, Katie, Shelby, Lauren, Bailey, Alex and Enrique.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, May, 24, 2012, 11 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Gardens (Einans), 915 Bypass Highway, Richland, WA.
