Nathan Lee Obituary

Nathan Scott Lee

February 8, 1972 - October 28, 2023

Wittman, Maryland - Nathan Scott Lee (51) was born in Kent, Washington. His family's last move was to Richland, Washington in 1982 when he was ten years old.

He attended Marcus Whitman elementary, Carmichael junior high and graduated from Richland High school in 1990.

Nathan was a good athlete and excelled in soccer and golf. He spent all his spare time as a youth at Sham Na Pum golf course in Richland. He teamed up with Bill Howard there and they became lifetime best friends. They both qualified for the high school state golf tournament two years in a row. One of the highlights of his life was attending the coveted Masters tournament in Augusta, Georgia in 2023.

Nathan was kind and generous to everyone who he met. He was able to make every person in front of him feel like they were the most important one in the room. He was interested in people and genuinely cared about what they had to say. He was an involved and active listener.

Nathan is survived by his parents Duane and Eva Lee, his sister Tania Bates and sister Tiffany Kile.

He is survived by his nephews Garrett Bates (and his daughter Sophia Bates) and Easton Bates (and his wife Lena). Also, several aunts, uncles and cousins (especially Lori Bridges-soul mates since birth).

He is also survived by his two sons, Tristan and Max.

Nathan earned an associate's degree from Columbia Basin College and attended Washington State University. He worked on building houses in Pullman for tuition money and that is where he developed his love for that trade. He quit school and started his own construction company NSL Inc.

He followed his former boss to Easton, MD and had a successful business building and remodeling homes. His business grew as his reputation for perfection in his work spread.

Nathan fell from a scaffold and broke several ribs, broke his back and shattered his ankle. He never recovered his health after his accident. He was in pain 24/7 for the last seven years of his life. He hardly slept because of the pain but continued working as long as he could manage. Constant pain, lack of sleep and lack of quality medical care finally combined to just wear his body down to where it just could not function, and his spirit departed his body.

Nathan accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and he will be spending eternity with him in heaven. We miss him every day, but we know that he is happy. Free from all pain and stress. He always felt closest to God when he was outdoors in a beautiful place and was in the utmost awe at what his heavenly father had created.

A celebration of life will be held at Einan's Event Center located at Sunset Gardens in Richland, Washington. The service will be held on June 15th, 2024, at 1:00 pm with a reception immediately following in the same location.

I miss you so very much, Natertot! You are in my heart and on my mind all of the time. You are not forgotten. Not ever. This will be my second Christmas without you here. I can´t believe you got to see heaven before me! I miss sharing random things with you and conversing about our day. Especially missing your voice, facial expressions, humor, your storytelling skills and just your presence in the everyday. Your friendship and wisdom over the years has left a legacy that you wouldn´t believe. The memories of your kindness are imprinted on my heart. You still give me courage and inspire me daily to be the best person that I can be. May I make you proud, my precious big bro bro. All my love, your favorite little sister.

My husband and I just read about Nate´s passing. We are sorry to hear about his suffering the past 7 years. He rescued one guest house and built a boathouse for us without an architectural design - he was that good! He had perspective, knowledge, perfectionism and put in maximal effort without complaint. Always checked to make sure his work reflected our vision. Our neighbor, subcontractors and also our real estate agent commented on his work. We considered him a friend, my husband met his children and we were privileged to have him in our life. Our heartfelt condolences to the family, Alison and Ed

What a giving, friendly and kind soul Nathan was. Putting the word "was" right after his name is very, very weird. There is always a lot of "I wish I had´s" when the universe decides it´s time for someone to take the next step and leave us. I am so thankful for all the good times we shared with so many other friends along the journey. Nate always saw the good in people, situations and all beings!
We kept in contact during golf´s majors but over the last few years communication fell to the side. I didn´t realize he had such a bad accident but he was not one to talk about such stuff, he always shined the light on others.
Shammy was such a wonderful spot to spend our youth. Summers there were the best! It´s like Caddyshack and Stand By Me blended together! So many amazing memories and wonderful people :)

When Nate came into view you always knew something wonderful was close behind
Love you Nate, see you on the other side!
