SHERRILL WELCH Obituary
SHERRILL ANN (CLARK) WELCH Sherrill Ann (Clark) Welch born January 28, 1942 and passed away December 25, 2015 Early Christmas morning Sherrill found her wings and her spirit joined the heavenly celebration. She heard her God say to her "well done my good and faithful servant, well done!" Sherrill was born in Marion, Indiana to Marjorie (Clark) Ferguson. She graduated from Marion High School and Vennard College where she earned her degree in Biblical Studies and Christian Studies. Sherrill lived in several cities throughout the country and held various positions with organizations, including Red Cross and World Gospel Mission. She owned a caf‚ where she loved cooking and building relationships with her customers. She joyously lived her life through her God, who led her to Dean Welch, a Methodist pastor in Oregon whom she married and instantly became a mother to his five children. She loved being a wife and a mother. Together they pastored several church families until they retired and settled in Nebraska, and together designed and built their own home. Sherrill truly loved life. She was an accomplished artist, loved her floral and vegetable gardens, and loved to cook. She snow skied and loved to play golf. Sherrill had a wonderful sense of humor and loved making everyone laugh. She loved her family and all of its large family reunions. One of her grandchildren, Cari, said "Grandma said to me in her final days that her purpose here on earth was to be Grandpa's wife and a Grandma. She was close to each of us in her own way: golfing with some, cooking with others, giving gardening tips, going to grandparents days in elementary schools, or being goofy with her Donald Duck voice and making us all laugh. She was known to have started her fair share of food fights and gave the boys a "racing hair test" if any of her granddaughters brought a boyfriend to meet her. Most of all, she helped teach her family strong morals and values and led her life by example being a woman of God. She knew we would have pain once she went home, but was truly at peace and ready to meet her Lord. We are all so thankful to have the life lessons that she taught us. She left an unforgettable legacy that we all cherish. Survivors include her beloved husband Dean Welch, Kennewick Washington.
