TAMARA MCMINN Obituary

Tamara (Tammy) Nita McMinn, our Sissy, passed away August 12, 2012. She was born September 20, 1940, in Walla Walla, WA. Sissy was bit by the travel bug at an early age. She traveled with her family around the U.S. as her father worked construction.

The family lived in many places and in Ohio she met and married George E. Sell. In 1960, she found herself traveling again to Washington, this time with her 3 month old daughter, Shonda.

In Richland, Sissy was a stay at home mom. Two years later she had her son, Mitch. As the kids got older, Tammy decided to go to college and get her nursing degree. She worked at Kadlec and Lourdes. In 1980, she moved to Europe her with her second husband, J W McMinn. They lived there for five years before moving to Big Foot, Texas.

While in Texas she worked as a R.N. in San Antonio. A few years after the death of her husband, she moved back to Richland. In Richland, she enjoyed spending time with her expanding family.

During her lifetime, she had many hobbies. She raised horses and alpacas and always had a dog or two. Sissy was a wonderful, loving, ornery woman. She loved her family and adored rocking babies. But above it all, she loved to talk.

Tammy is survived by her daughter Shonda Harvey, and fiance Phil Borsik, her son Mitch Sell and sister Lorie Morrison and husband Darryl Morrison. She has 8 grandkids, 10 great grandkids, 3 stepchildren in Texas and their children. Also surviving her is her niece Nicki Evans, husband Curtis, and nephew Scott Morrison. Her parents Tim and Jean Thompson and husband JW McMinn preceded her in death.

There will be a celebration of her life August 25, 2012 at The Divine Fellowship, 513 Barth Ave., Richland, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
