May 18, 1962 - May 1, 2022
Kennewick, Washington - Thomas (Tom) Alan, Reeves, 59, passed away while at work shortly after losing his wife just 6 weeks earlier. Tom was born at Kadlec Medical Center in Richland, WA on May 18th, 1962.
Tom grew up taking family vacations to the Oregon Coast, where someone always had to supply the Red Vines, malt balls, and comic books to enjoy while having adventures in Cape Kiwanda. He loved exploring the wilderness and interacting with the wildlife. He later then continued the tradition by taking his grandchildren to the coast to recreate his favorite memories, checking out tide pools, climbing the sandhill, and crabbing at Netarts Bay. Even at a young age, Tom was a great fisherman. One year he asked his mom what she wanted for her birthday, to which she said laughingly, "A salmon." He took off to the Columbia River and in a few hours returned with her gift, a 10lb salmon. He also enjoyed playing sports, especially football and although he was small, he was fast. While growing up in Richland, he played hard outside with the neighborhood kids establishing lifelong friendships. He finished his high school years attending Wenatchee High, where he met his future wife, Rebecca Bugbee. They were married on the 4th of July 1981 (40 years).
Thomas joined the Airforce which took him and his new wife to Biloxi, MS, where their eldest, Sheila, was born. They welcomed their second daughter, Shawna, after moving to Wichita, KS in 1984. Later in 1988, the family headed back to Washington.
Tom was a mechanic who worked to help keep the Tri-Cities rolling; having worked at Atomic Bowl, Go Bowl, and Spare Time Lanes over his lifetime. Tom loved to bowl, and bowling extended beyond a hobby it was his passion. He even took his wife bowling on their first date. He recently held a 209 average and his team; 3 Gals & a Guy recently won their senior league, Tom won high series. He was an ambidextrous bowler; he bowled four perfect 300 games over his bowling career. His family was present for the last 300 in 2013.
When he was not at the bowling alley he enjoyed many things, mostly outdoor. His hobbies were fishing, hunting, gardening, pc gaming, jigsaw puzzles, attending live Rush concerts, caring for his small animals, visiting the Oregon Coast, and reading his Bible daily. Caring for pets gave Tom a tremendous amount of joy. He owned rabbits, fish, and birds of all kinds. He favored ducks and named most Bruce, after his first duck. Tom had a powerful green thumb and although he was not a veggie eater, he loved to grow all sorts of fruits and vegetables for his family and friends. Tom Reeves loved spending time with his friends and family, and he will be deeply missed.
Thomas was proceeded in death by his wife, Rebecca S Reeves; his uncle, Gary (Judy) Oldfather, Tony Reeves; his aunt, Carrie Jo (Walter) Cunningham; his grandparents; William and Elizabeth Oldfather and Dewey & Vestina Reeves.
