A great loss for Marilyn and the world. I knew him for 40 years. People forget Walter had his own publishing company and published the BARB-BARBE genealogy in 1993. He was so interested in his own roots.

We met Walter & Marilyn at the Honesdale Presbyterian church shortly after moving to the area in 2010. We discovered we were neighbors. Walter always welcomed us & shared several stories, many humorous. We enjoyed his company.

In loving memory of a wonderful person. We will love you and miss you always. My daughter and I met him while touring the Glass museum. Such a nice person. My grandfather worked at Dorflinger's in the early 1900's and we were happy to find some history on him. I also remember Miss Wood from school. May he rest in peace.

Walter Barbe touched so many lives! I first met him through Highlights as a child. How many of us had trips to the doctor or dentist eased by The Timbertoes, Hidden Pictures, and Goofus and Gallant. I loved reading his notes to parents and children. He truly loved life and lived to make the world a better place. We will cherish our memories of you. I know that the Gates of Heaven were opened wide and all rejoiced to welcome you home!

Walter exemplified the definition of gentleman. Such a vault of history willing to share with anyone willing to learn. My sincere condolences to Marilyn and all loved ones. I miss the many days I was privileged to meet him. Amy Smith
