He also belonged to the Late Great Chevy car club where he showed his 1966 Chevrolet Caprice in parades and took it to many car shows. He loved Airedale dogs, working on cars, piddling in his garage and whistling. He was such a good friend. Always willing to help out whenever he could. When I called J about planning Dad's birthday party I was just looking for a list of people that they worked with; but J dropped everything and came to my house to help me get a list together and even helped me plan the party. When Dad was so sick and in and out of the hospital, J came to see him just about every day. When Dad passed away, J was one of the first people to come and see if he could do anything for us. He stayed in touch with Mom and made sure she didn't need anything, going out for a quick bite to eat and just keeping her company. He was always there, no matter what was needed. When my son was in an accident and temporarily in a wheelchair, J brought a van over and helped me transport him to Dr appointments, never giving a second thought about what he had to do. You don't meet many people like that, he was a special friend to the entire family. We will miss him greatly. The family of Don Thompson will indeed miss his stories, humor, and good will.
