Raymond Fleming Obituary

Raymond P. Fleming TROY – Raymond P. Fleming, 72, died suddenly Friday, February 19, 2016 at home after a brief illness. Born in Vesta, Minnesota on April 29, 1943, he was the son of the late Edward M. and Mildred C. Walstrom Fleming. Ray was raised in St. Paul, MN and was a graduate of St. Paul High School. Ray was a US Air Force veteran during the Vietnam War serving in Germany and Plattsburgh, NY. He was employed as a salesman for Tek Bearing and Bearing Distributors. Presently he was working part time for G Force Industrial in East Greenbush as a janitor. He resided in Malta from 1991-2004 when he moved to Troy. Ray enjoyed fishing, bowling, horseshoes and working around his home and lawn. He was a family man who cherished the time spent with his family. He is the beloved husband of 23 years of Kathleen M. Allen Fleming; devoted father of Terri (Tom) Hanson of Latham, Kathy (Grant) Stein of Loudonville, Vicki (Craig) Hooper of Nelson, NH, Phyllis (Chet) Grenda of Winchester, NH, Jack (Lisa) Mandigo of Reaford, NC and Elizabeth Hamilton of Troy; proud grandfather of James Johnson, Anthony Tasso, Ernest White, Ashley Gomarlo, Tony and Kaitlyn Johnson, Miranda White, Brianna Stein, Adam and Timothy Mandigo and Carter Blond; great grandfather of Gavin, Avery, Ricky, Harper and Mackenzie; brother of Michael (Nancy) Fleming of Tacoma, WA and Robert (Judy) Fleming of Minneapolis, MN. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Bowen & Parker Bros. Funeral Home, 97 Old Loudon Road, Latham on Monday from 4-7 pm. Family and friends will gather at the funeral home on Tuesday at 8:30 am to proceed to the Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery for the committal service and military honors at 10 am. In lieu of flowers and due to cemetery restrictions, contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675 or woundedwarriorproject.org. Dad, I remember when you taught me to slow dance. The music was playing, and you took my hand in yours. You put my other hand on your shoulder, while your other hand went to the small of my back. You danced me around the porch. I was only about 12 or 13, but you've always been my favorite dance partner. Dad, I love you and will miss you so much until we meet to dance again.
