Robert Mattocks

Troy-Robert W. Mattocks, 80, of Schenectady, formerly of Troy, passed away on Thursday November 2, 2023 at Albany Medical Center. Robert was a proud survivor of three bouts of cancer.Robert was born in Troy; He was the son to the late James H. Mattocks and Alma Jordan Mattocks.Robert worked for over 32 years at New York State Department of Taxation and Finance as a supply clerk. He was a former member of St. Patrick's Church; he also was a member of the CSEA and AFSCME in Albany. Robert was a wonderful person, and he will be missed dearly. He volunteered at The Muscular Dystrophy Association working the telethons, the children were dear to his heart. He loved all animals and living creatures, especially eagles and wolves. His recent visit to the Wolf Mountain Nature Center was a highlight.He is survived by his immediate family Paul, Betsy and Peggy, his extended family and his friends at the Atrium.In addition to his mother, father, he was predeceased by his brother David Mattocks.Memorial donations in memory of Robert may be made to The Muscular Dystrophy Association or Wolf Mountain Nature Center in Smyrna, NY.Calling hours will be held on Wednesday November 8, 2023 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm with a funeral service to follow at 1:00 pm all at McLoughlin & Mason Funeral Home, 8 109th Street, Troy (corner of 109th Street and Third Avenue, Lansingburgh.
