Samuel Edward "Sam" Turriglio

Samuel Edward Turriglio, 91, of Marietta, GA, passed away on Sunday, July 17, 2022, in Marietta, GA. A Funeral Service will be held in his honor on Thursday, July 28, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Macland Chapel with Rev. Tim Childers & Rev. Mike Faulkner officiating. In lieu of flowers please donate in Samuel’s name to, GracePointe Marietta Baptist Church, 505 Atlanta Street, Marietta, GA 30060. Samuel is survived by his loving wife of 70 years. Barbara Camp Turriglio of Marietta, GA; son, Jim Turriglio and his wife Sue Fuller Turriglio of Marietta, GA; daughter, Lynn Turriglio of White House, TN; sister Jean Cavallo of Troy, NY; granddaughter, Lauren Turriglio Adair & husband Caleb Adair of Homewood, AL; grandson, Mitch Turriglio of White House, TN; five great-grandchildren, Jackson, Cameron, and Samantha Turriglio of White House, TN and Eleanor and Annabelle Adair of Homewood, AL; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and three sisters. Sam was born on Monday, May 18, 1931, in Troy, NY to James & Lena Taddeo Turriglio. He served in the United States Air Force and was a retired businessman. Sam was a member of several civic clubs and earned numerous awards and honors. He was active in the McEachern High School Athletic Booster Club, where he served as President. He was named an “Outstanding Young Man in America” in 1967. Sam was a people person, had a great sense of humor and enjoyed nothing more than making people laugh and making his family happy. Sam loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren who affectionately called him “Popie.” He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and his presence will be forever missed. A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 28, 2022 between the hours of 12:30 PM and 2:00 PM at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Macland Chapel.
