Dear Mike, Tina, Lexi and Ant,
I've been thinking of you guys all week, knowing that Cenzo's anniversary would be hitting you hard. I didn't realize this site was still open - I was actually just looking for info on my friend who passed away this week. She also left us unexpectedly.... she was hit by a car and died on impact. I've been thinking of the fragility of our lives and it always brings me back to the blessings of family and friends. I'll always remember your children in preschool and how they always made me smile and laugh. They learned love and compassion from their wonderful parents. How can it be 6 years already? Cenz would be 16. Can't imagine how handsome he would be, especially with those eyes!! I think of all of you so often and hope your hearts have mended by a stitch or two. When you talk with Cenz please ask him to keep an eye out for Darla, who was already an angel on earth. She appeared to me in a quick flash the other night and was wearing a black top and red scarf. She has short black hair, a beautiful smile, sparkling eyes - and she'll be with her 15 yr old son, Jeremiah, who was hit by a car as well years ago. If anyone can make them feel welcome it will be Vincenzo. Love you guys.

Vinny was my daughter's classmate, and every day she has her Vincenzo Rizzo bracelet to remember him. She raised over $100 for him and she says that her class is mourning still. She also showed me that he has his own page in the yearbook.

I just want all of Vinny's family (especially his mom and dad) and friends to know that I still think of you all every single day. I think about how time is moving on...and how life is back to the new "normal" and how sad you all must be... how hard loosing your beautiful boy must be as it tears you up inside..and I cry for you... My heart is broken for all of you. It's hard to even begin to think of how hard it must be to carry on... but I pray for you every day. I pray that you are keeping Vinny's love alive everyday...leaning on each other...sharing stories...and just feeling him as he lives inside you. He was such a special little boy... and I hope that one day the sadness in your eyes will be replaced with a joyous smile in your heart... and happy tear will fall to replace even a small bit of the of the heartache that I'm sure you are all still feeling. Vinny, I think about how we lost you everyday. I think about how it makes no sense and wish that there was some way that things could be different, someway to fill the void that came into our lives when you were taken from us all. I think of saying goodbye to you and it brings me immense saddness. With the passing days and the realization that our lives are forever altered moving forward, when i think of you, I will try to focus more on what a special, funny, gorgeous boy you were and how we were so very lucky to have you in our lives even if for a short time. I will always think of your little devlish smile and how you would do the craziest things that you could think of to make my girls laugh. Mike I am so sorry to hear of your loss looking back I realized I had Vinny on my soccer team 2 years ago and didn't realize he was your son. He was such a pleasure to coach and by the looks of it touched many people in his life. My prayers go out to you and your family on these very difficult days. I am on the board of North Colonie baseball and I know we have discussed things we are going to do at the fields and the up coming baseball season in memory of Vinny.

As a parent I can not fathom this unbearable loss. When I find myself wondering why you and your family must go through this I can only believe that this was your sons time. The plan had always been set by God for his life on Earth to end now and his welcoming to Heaven to begin. Trust that although it feels like an ending to you it is really just a new beginning for him. For reasons you will someday know, he was brought to Heaven. At some point in the future your pain will not be so severe and you will begin to see signs that he is with you. The reason he was taken from you so early will also become clearer. You have to believe that there is a reason and that he is happy and his death will serve a great purpose that God had chosen long ago. I am sure that at this time that is all completely unfathomable and probably not comforting. Every parent and every person is frozen with the thought of the extreme pain your family is enduring. I realize it sounds like lip service but it really will not always hurt so badly. Be open for signs that he is everywhere with you and be open to learn of Gods plan. He is obviously an amazing child that God knew would be able to do even more in Heaven then he could do here on Earth. From the sounds of it he showed signs of being especially blessed by God . He has not left you, rather we have all been blessed by his joining the Lord in Heaven for his goodness and love will be shining on us all.

My granddaughter Maggie was a classmate of Vinny's. She told me he was a really funny kid who made her laugh and how he always wanted to help other students. What an awesome boy!! Lke others have said there are really no words to ease your pain. I am so sorry for what you are going through.
