Albert Quiroz Obituary

Albert "Al" Bustamante Quiroz Our Dad, son of Ernestina Quiroz Rivera and Enrique Pain, was born on August 15, 1928 in Tucson, Arizona. He passed from this physical world on January 12, 2014 in San Bernardino, CA. He is survived by his hijas, Andrea Ana (Andy) and Alida Victoria (Dede); grandchildren and great-grandchildren, sobrinos, Rudy and Steven Casillas and his companion, Beverly Powell. He was raised by his Tata Vicente and Nana Elena, helping on the ranchito with livestock, chopped wood, sold it and played Mariachi trumpet. He accompanied his Tata who was a rodeo bull rider and his "Pakho" Tio Manuel to Easter "fiestas". After graduating from Tucson High School he served in the Navy in World War II. He attended the University of Arizona graduating from the college of Pharmacy in 1952. In the 50's he brought his first wife, Alicia (Felix) and family to live in California. During his professional career we recall his dedication, long hours on his feet helping customers in English and Spanish. His longtime Novia Bev, cared for him during his last few months. He was a great dancer, bowler, tennis player and golfer. Please remember him that way. He reinforced in his daughters, compassion, giving back, being independent, choosing your own path of being close to nature and God. Dad we know you did not want to go this soon, but Tata, Nana, su Mama, su Hermano Rudy, su sobrino Ricky and others will help you cross over in paz. Buen Viaje, Dad! Viewing (Velorio) at 9060 S. Comanche at Three Points 7:00 p.m. - midnight Saturday, January 25, 2014. Services 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Sunday, January 26 at MARTINEZ FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2580 S. 6th Ave., Tucson, AZ. Remembering Nuestra "Dad" who admonished us to eat our fresh fruit in the morning. I found out this helps stabilize blood sugar. He advised us to take our vitamins before going to bed and sleeping.

Albert called me several years ago. He was searching for information on the Pain family history. We had a wonderful conversation. I put him in touch with a Pain relative to help in his search for family roots. My condolence to the Quiroz family.
