He was a genius as a scholar, but also a really kind man. I was a grad student at the U of A between 2005 and 2010, and although he wasn't my advisor or even in my dissertation committee, he was always willing to provide feedback and had a genuine interest for the well-being of grad students. A great man. I will miss him sorely.

This giant of a man in the academic world was the sole reason that, mid-career, I found a new and exciting calling in experimental, behavioral economics. A great friend and amazing colleague. This man could untangle a web of messy writing (by his co-authors) and turn it into text with clarity and precision like no one I have ever known.
