Armando Riesgo Obituary

Armando O. Riesgo Born August 19, 1933 in Tucson, AZ., passed away on December 29, 2009 surrounded by his family. He was a proud member of the Latin American Golf Club, and El Rio Men's Gold Club. He was employed at Hughes Aircraft Company for 37 years. Armando was a loving husband, a supportive father, and a devoted grandfather. He will be missed by all those that had the opportunity to know him - most of all by his family. We will always miss him in our lives, but we are glad he is finally free. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Tula; and by his brothers, Richard and Fred. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Sylvia; his children, Armando (Liz), Stella Petshow, RoseAnn (Tom) Schultz, Linda (Rik) Walker; and his grandchildren, Mark, Steven, Nicole, Paul, Olivia, Christopher, and Vivien. Also survived by his great-grandson, Mark Jr.; and great-granddaughter, Sophia, whom he was still waiting to meet; sister, Irene (Frankie) Soto; brother, Oscar (Consuelo) Riesgo; and sister-in-law, Florence Riesgo. The family would like to thank the staff at St. Mary's CCU - especially Laura- for the gentle and compassionate manner they showed to Armando and his family during his final time. Funeral services will be held Monday, January 4, 2010 at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 1300 N. Greasewood Rd. A viewing will be held from 8:00 a.m. to 9:15 a.m., with a Mass following at 9:30 a.m. Interment will be at Holy Hope Cemetery, 3555 N. Oracle Rd. Arrangements by CARRILLO'S TUCSON MORTUARY, INC.

Working with Armando were great times at Hughes A/c Co. and all his brothers. I knew them all and had good times with them at the golf courses. He always had a smile on his face and great attitude. We worked for many years together and always worked out the issues at hand. We laughed, worked hard and enjoyed life together. My condolances to his wife and family. I will miss you Armando.
