I am and will always be proud to have had my uncle Turi in my life. I was kid of about 9 years old when the young man pictured above came into my life. The memories came back instantly and once again we were both young and would ask him to flex his muscles for me. Once more he's dating my tia Fina and my mom sends me to escort them when they went to the drive-ins. Intermission came and my uncle Turi would flick me a few bucks, my signal to get lost! I'd lean against the front of snack bar and happily munch away. I can only imagine what the Fiesta drive-in's 4 Mexican movies for a buck night set him back! After they married, I was staying with them one day, when my Tio came home with the news that had been laid off as a hod carrier for Lusk Homes. The only job available was picking cotton. The next day we were picking! I found a man that was not too proud to do a lesser job to pay the bills. Fast forward about 50 years and I find myself sittting at the kitchen, talking about the Korean War. He tells me about banzai attacks, hordes of North koreans comming at you as fast as you could take them down. Having to run and take cover from rounds of incoming mortor and tank shellings. I encourage all of you to look up pictures of the Korean War in Wikipedia and see the terrible acts they had to witness and bitter winters they endurred. Arturo J Ramirez brought HONOR to flag that draped his eartly remains! Is there a hell? My opinion is that some have already been there and and I know the Good Lord will cut them some slack and judge them in accordance. I leave you with the quote I could not get correct at Uncle Turi's Rosary - It comes from a Winnie the Pooh book, "If there ever comes a day when we cannot be together, Just keep me in your heart, and I'll stay with you forever! God Bless and Keep You, Uncle Turi! Peace and Love to all that loved him, especially Louie, Jimmy, Charlie, Armando and my Tia Fina! Roland C. "Rolly" Estrada
