Charlotte Donahue Obituary

Charlotte Ann Donahue age 80, passed on to her eternal reward on Friday, June 15, 2007 in Phoenix, Arizona. She was born on May 20, 1927 in Greeley, NE to Christopher and Catherine Taylor. She moved with her parents to Tucson in 1947 and married John L. Donahue Jr. on October 30, 1950. She was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Catherine English. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, John; her sister, Agnes Rouse; her four children, Maureen (Steve) Martinick, Chris (Patricia) Donahue, Hugh (Bernadette) Donahue, Mary Jayne (Joseph) Smith; 13 grandchildren, Katie, Emily, Jack, Michael, Kimberly, Megann, Shannon, Kyle, Sarah, Molly, Ryan, Daniel, and Anne Marie. Charlotte will be remembered for her kind and generous nature, her devotion to her husband, children, and grandchildren, her great sense of humor and her love for the community she called home for 60 years. She served the community as a member of the Junior League of Tucson and as a past President of the Pima Auxiliary Bar Association. She brought joy to everyone who knew her and will forever remain in our hearts. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Friday, June 29, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 5150 N. Valley View Dr. A reception will follow the Mass at Skyline Country Club. For those who wish, in lieu of flowers, kindly send memorial contributions to the Pima Council on Aging HOST Program, 8467 E Broadway Tucson, AZ 85710. HOST, or Helping Other Seniors Trust, is a program initiated by Charlotte to assist senior citizens with one-time expenses in time of crisis. Friends and family are invited to recite the Rosary at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel on Thursday, June 28, 2007 at 7:00 p.m.
