Csilla Dudas Obituary

Csilla Veronika Dudas 49, of Tucson died on February 16, 2006 fom complication following a difficult heart surgery. Csilla is loved and survived by her brothers, Fran (Rigel) and Laszlo (Cassandra); her nephews, Tristan (Jennifer) and Shannon; niece, Tara (Lincoln); and great-nephew, Lucas. Her parents Laszlo, Sr. and Charlotte, preceded her in death. Csilla has kept close ties throughout her lifetime with relatives in Hungary, enjoying her visits there, and immersing herself in the culture and language. Their cousin, Kati's, visits here will always bring joyful memories. Csilla was born in Anaconda, Montana, and moved to Tucson with her family in 1968. She graduated from University of Arizona with Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Science. She was fortunate to be able to work in her field at U of A, Dept. of Nutritional Sciences for more than 25 years, enjoying a challenging career while developing strong friendships with her colleagues. For many years she has been an active member of the Society for Creative Anachronisms, indulging herself in her enjoyment of all things medieval, numerous Renaissance Festivals, feasts and costuming, as well as her close personal friendships. She enjoyed her commitment and friends in the Hungarian-American Club, always continuing her love of the language, music, food and embroideries of Hungary. Csilla's delight in needlework, cooking and socializing were evident till the end. Her creatve life was cut far too short by her life-long affliction with diabetes, which ultimately destroyed her heart. A memorial mass will be held at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, across from University Medical Center on Campbell, Monday, March 13 @ 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her name to American Diabetes Association, (800) 342-2383, www.diabetes.org or The Nature Conservancy of Arizona, 1510 E.
