David Sims Obituary

David Eugene Sims was born on September 7, 1944 to Jean and Eugene Sims in Miami, Arizona. David passed away peacefully in his sleep on March 7, 2014. David is preceded in death by his parents, Gene and Jean Sims and his beloved son, Bob. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Susan and his sons, John, Scott and daughter-in-law, Laura; his brothers, Doug (Nancy), Greg (Lois), Kirk (Kelley); his sisters, Susie and Leslie (Steve); many nephews and one grandniece. David graduated from Miami High School in 1962 and the University of Arizona in 1967. David worked as a systems engineer for ASARCO Mining Corporation, Hughes Aircraft and Tucson Medical Center. David retired from TMC in 2010 and continued to volunteer at the TMC medical library until his death. David was a true gentle soul with a smile for everyone. He will be greatly missed by all that loved him and all that knew him. Graveside Service will be held at East Lawn Palms Cemetery on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite charity in his name. Arrangements by EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY.
