Dr. Eric H. ERICKSON Jr.

1940 - 2016

ERICKSON, Dr. Eric H., Jr. 75, died April 13, 2016 at home with his family by his side. Service to be held on Saturday, May 7, 2016 at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Avalon Chapel, 8090 N. Northern Ave., Tucson, AZ. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. -4:00 p.m. with Memorial Service and Military Honors to begin at 2:00 p.m. Donations can be made to the American Cancer Society. Eric was born April 26, 1940 in Denver, CO to Eric H. and Emma R. Erickson. Eric earned his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Entomology from CSU in 1963/1965. He served two years as an officer in the U.S. Army. In 1970 he obtained his Ph.D. from the UofA and joined the Agricultural Research Service where he conducted honey bee research. He also was an Adjunct Professor at the University(s) of Wisconsin and Arizona. Eric received the U.S. Army Commendation Medal for Outstanding Service in the Republic of Vietnam, and countless awards during his prestigious career including Outstanding Senior Scientist of the Year. Eric enjoyed woodworking, restoring his Model T, fishing, yardwork and being Mr. Fixit. Eric is survived by his wife, Lucille; son, William (Lori); son, Eric (Sandra); son, Jeffrey (Ivana) and five grandchildren, William, Nicholas, Dalia, Sara and Michal; sisters, Alma and Mildred; mother-in-law, Anne; sister-in-law, Fran and nieces and nephews. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
