Frank De La Pena Obituary

Frank De La Pena 92, born in San Antonio, TX. was called to Heaven on December 21, 2012. Preceded in death by his parents Francisco De La Pena Davila and Virginia Alonso. He is survived by the love of his life of 57 years Elva; sons, Frank (Cindy), Sergio (Alicia); daughters, Elva (Sergio), Teresa, Maricela (Phillip), Aracelli (Mark); grandchildren, Benjamin, Heather, Thomas, Mathew, Stacie, Alyssa, Mark, Michelle, Carlos, Marissa, Crystal and Kristiana, Sergio, Rene, Alicia; great-grandchildren, Luke, Dylan, Aliyah, Ezequil. He served in the U.S Army as a paratrooper from July 1945 to December 1949 with the 82nd Airborne 325 Glider regiments and 505 Task force regiment and 511 regiment 11th Airborne division. Retired from the city of Yuma, moved to Tucson were he served as a volunteer at the VA hospital for 15 years with over 12,500 volunteer hours. He made many great friends established great relationships. Loved his family dearly and will be missed by all. "All the way". A visitation will be held on Friday, December 28, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. rosary at FUNERARIA DEL ANGEL SOUTH LAWN. Funeral service 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at St. Augustine Cathedral graveside, to follow at South Lawn cemetery.

Daddy I am so thankful and blessed to have been able to cherish the many years you shared with me and my family. You are the strongest man I know, you were always very determined and loved life. Although I know you wanted to stay around a little longer, heaven was waiting for you and I'm so blessed to have been there as we prayed over you as you took your last breath and ascended into heaven <3 I love you forever!! more than M&Ms and don't worry we will take care of Mama.
