I'm just seeing this news and it is so sad. I met George at a Commonwealth trip. I'm pretty sure it was in Portugal. He was so fun and had a magnetic personality. Our sympathy goes out to his love ones. We are so sorry for your loss.
Sincerely,

Deep condolences to George's family & friends. For nearly 30 years I had the privilege to work and adventure with George (and so some of you, too). He was ebullient, smart, curious, and generous with his many blessings. We can honor his life by imitating his best habits and so find the joy he did by giving more than getting.

I was a rotary foreign exchange student from Ecuador during 2014-2015 I knew George because he was my councelor, all I have to say is that he was one of kind man that I've ever knew, he was so funny and kind. I remember the best trip of my life when he took me to Greer I had the best time of my life. He was a great a person. Thanks for everything you've done for me George you'll be always remembered. Here is the only picture that I took during that trip. Thanks George for all the great memories. A big hug to all his family.
