Ivan Odell "Jack" Armstrong

Ivan Odell "Jack" Armstrong of Tucson (ret. USAF), was born in Littlefork, MN on February 20, 1933 and died on June 16, 2011 from surgical complications. He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Nettie Armstrong. Jack is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mickey; daughters, Catherine (Ken) Friedenberg of Vail, AZ; Diana (John) King of Tucson; Janice (Smiley) Rice of Cochise, AZ; and Sharon (Billy) Cook of Salt Lake City, UT; grandchildren, Angela, Christopher, Sarah, Stephanie, and Eric; and step-grandchildren, Branson and Victoria. He is also survived by sisters, Nona "Toni" Nemetz of Tucson and Dorla Gourley of Des Moines, IA, and brother, David (Judy) Armstrong of Henderson, NV; numerous nieces and nephews in AZ, CA, NV, NM, IA and MN, as well as many friends and co-workers. Jack served his country in the Korean and Vietnam wars. After retiring from the military, he continued his career in civilian aviation. Viewing to be held from 9:30 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 22, 2011, followed by the Memorial Service at 10:00 a.m. at ABBEY FUNERAL HOME, 3435 N. 1st Avenue, Tucson AZ.
