Dear lisa and family,
you don't know me but I felt I needed to write when I found the article about Jonathon. We also lost a boy August 15 of 2006 in the same sort of accident that you lost Jonathon in. Our son's name is Lloyd Andrew Kopack and the accident occured in Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore in northern Michigan. It has been just over a year since we lost our beautiful 11 year old boy. You have much ahead of you. If it would help to talk with someone who has shared a similar expereince I would love to talk with you. Please contact me if you think it would be helpful. I wish you peace of mind and strength in the days and weeks to come.

Dear Waldrup Family,

We are so sorry for the loss of Jack. Our family was at the beach when the accident occurred and two of us were steps away at the sand dunes. The two of us rushed to help with the rescue efforts and we all stood vigil until the end.

We think of you often and wish you strength in the weeks ahead. We hope you are able to find comfort in your happy memories of Jack.

In My Pocket

I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.

My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.

They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.

Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.

But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.

Our family is so sad at your loss. Jack is in a perfect place but his presence will be so greatly missed. My son, Steve, said he could just imagine the great fun Jack was having with his cousin! Steve said he had dug many tunnels in Indiana dirt! Tragic and unexplainable but there will be a day when it is all understood. We're hugging you tight and wishing you strength. Anne and family
