Jacqueline J. "Jackie" Silva

Jacqueline J. Mercer Knott Silva "Jackie," Passed away Tuesday May 27, 2014 surrounded by her family. She was born August 11, 1927, in Utica, New York to Robert E. Mercer and Ellen C. Cooney. Married to John A. Knott (deceased) on December 1, 1951. Jackie always said she had a good life. She enjoyed traveling around our country in her youth, and later, with her youngest Aimee and her second husband Enoch Silva (deceased). Survived by her sister, Audrey White; brother, Robert E. Mercer Jr., both of Arizona and her children, Michael (Betty Kalil) Knott, Robyn Knott, Cheryl (David) Rubinstein, Sandy Lutz, Richard (Krissy Preston) Knott and Aimee (Bruce) Bagenstos and stepson, Dr. Bruce (Tori) Silva, all of Arizona. grandchildren, Andie (Dallas) Tate, Jessica (Bryce Hutton) Lutz, Martin (Bianca) Lutz, Conner and Parker Lutz, Alyssa (Troy) Swihart, Rebecca Rubinstein, John M. Knott, Alicia, Cyrena and Brooke Bagenstos. Jackie had five great-grandchildren that were very special and dear to her, along with her loving nieces and nephews from the East to West coasts. There are many friends Jackie had over the years from the Shadowtree Apartments and Blanch Johnson Courtyard that became her extended family. She had great pleasure in knowing and enjoying them. She was an inspiration to many and welcoming to all. Jackie belonged and volunteered to various associations in Utica, NY and here in Tucson. Forever cooking and baking, you never heard of anyone not enjoying the dish or wanting the recipe! There was a constant book or two (sometimes even three) that she was in the middle of reading. Most of our friends thought of her as their substitute mother. But she was just MOM to us. There will be a Celebration of life on Saturday, July 19, 2014 at 3:00 p.m., at Viscount Suite Hotel, 4855 E. Broadway, Tucson, Arizona. Please wear bright colors!
