James Jorgensen Obituary

James P. "Jim" Jorgensen Born October 26, 1922, Council Bluffs, Iowa. Jim died at his home April 4, 2009 after a long battle with cancer and other illnesses. He is survived by his wife of over 62 years, Margaret L. Jorgensen and their five children, John (Jane), Peter (Peggy), Ed (Jan), Martha (Troy) Reimer and Paul (Heidi); thirteen grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; sister, Mable Collins of Council Bluffs, Iowa and many nieces and nephews. Jim was a long time custom cabinet maker, opening James P. Jorgensen Cabinets in 1960. A kind man of quiet dignity and family values, Jims' reassuring smile, supportive advice and love will be deeply missed by his family and friends. His loving spirit and guidance will continue with us as he spends eternity with our Lord, his brothers, sisters and beloved parents. Adair Funeral Home, Dodge Chapel, 1050 N. Dodge, will hold visitation on Tuesday, April 7, 2009, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 8, 2009, 10:00 a.m. at Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church, 1800 S. Kolb Rd. Interment to follow at Holy Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in James P. Jorgensen's name to Casa de los Ninos, 1101 N. 4th Ave., Tucson, AZ 85705 or the charity of your choice.

Uncle Jim was a strong, quiet man. His smile could say so many things. I always loved it when he would rub my white hair that always stuck out in the back and just grin at me. It really made me feel safe and loved. As always, my thoughts and prayers are with you. Sending you extra hugs.

I am sorry to hear about Jim and my thoughts are with all of you.I remember Jim and all of you from way back when I was a little girl and my Dad (Tom Tinervin) was in the Formica Counter Top Business and Jim of course was in the cabinet business. I of course have seen some of you including Jim since then but it has been quite awhile.
