James Neihart Obituary

James E. Neihart, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, completed his earthly journey and joined our Lord on Tuesday, June 10, 2025. Jim's legacy for his loved ones is the importance and immeasurable treasure that is family as well as a deep faith in God our Father, the saving grace of our Lord Jesus Christ and the daily power, influence and inspiration of the Holy Spirit. Jim was married to Josephine, the love of his life for over sixty years. He is survived by his daughter Pamela and husband Alan, sons Paul and wife Tiffany, Mark and wife Susan, along with grandchildren Justin, Jenen, Delaney, Kimberly and Ryan, and great grandchildren Harper, Emmeline, Westlee, Elenna, Mabel and Colt.

Jim had a notably accomplished career in the banking industry and was recognized by numerous organizations for his volunteer service in the Tucson community. His superpowers were a keen intelligence and common sense, grit, determination, a sense of humor and a willingness for self-sacrifice in furtherance of meeting the needs of his family and the Tucson community. He was a loyal fan of all the Arizona Wildcat teams, and he loved to laugh both at himself and with others. The pain family and close friends are experiencing at this time is soothed by our confidence that Jim is with the Lord, along with his wife Josephine, his eldest son Jim, his grandson Sean and many family members and friends. Services for Jim will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2025, starting at 10:00 a.m. in St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 5150 N. Valley View Road, Tucson, Arizona 85718 (phone 520-577-8780). The Honorable Bishop Kicanas will preside over services. Jim's burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, it is suggested that donations for retired priests and deacons be notated as such and sent in Jim Neihart's memory to the Chancellor's Office, Catholic Diocese of Tucson, 192 S. Stone Ave., #2, Tucson, AZ 85701.
