It's hard to believe that a year has gone by since we lost a beautiful, genuine and cherished friend in you Jody. You are never far from my mind and always in my heart. I still look for you at every ball court, field and gathering.

I miss your quick wit, determination to always help others, truly gorgeous smile and the sound of your laughter which never failed to bring a smile to my face.

Take care my friend. I wish for you the same beauty, joy and kindness you gave to us all.

Dearest Jody, I didn't learn of your passing for 3 months, then haven't had enough guts to comment. I am heart broken for Tom and the children. Our Lord works in mysterious ways. You must have been awfully needed for the Lord to take you now. But oh how you loved life, your family and nature. All of it was recognized as a gift from God. You had told me so yourself. I will always admire you Jody. Your life represented everything I wish mine would be. May God comfort your broken hearted husband and children. I love you all. Lizzy

Jody, I'm so glad I got to see you and the rest of the family the last time all the Engelhard cousins got together. While the reason for the reunion was to celebrate your dads life and legacy, we got to spend time laughing, sitting on the couch, looking over photos and sharing memories of a life lived to the fullest. Reading over all these condolences is a true reflection of the generous and nurturing person you were. So while you walked with us for such a short time, you left a wonderful legacy of giving back and making a difference in so many lives. I'm thinking you and your dad are watching over the family, helping the Good Lord answer prayers, and finding ways to let your loved ones and friends know that you live on in the memories they share. Goodbye for now Jody. You were beautiful, inside and out and left us too soon.

Death is nothing else but going home to God,
the bond of love will be unbroken for all eternity.
The memory of a good person is a blessing. When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure.
The angels are always near to those who are grieving, to whisper to them that their loved ones are safe in the hand of God.
For death is no more than a turning of us over from time to eternity.
Tears are God's gift to us, Our holy water. They heal us as they flow.
People will never forget how you made them feel.
Until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.

Death has taken Jody from us and left a heartache that can't be healed, but no one can take her memory from us. It will be the little things that I will remember, her smile, her laughter, her sense of humor, it will be the memories of these things that help push away the pain and bring the smiles and the laughter back again.
Jody filled my life with fun, laughter and friendship from the age of 4. She was the best friend anyone could ask for and she taught me to find humor in almost anything. I thank God for every day that I had her friendship. She was a kind and generous spirit that will be missed always.
The Engelhard family, Tom and children – You are all in my thoughts and prayers and have my deepest sympathies. Thank you for sharing Jody with us all.

I am deeply saddened by the unexpected news of the passing of my dear childhood friend. Jody was the girl next door. She was my first true friend. She was like a big sister to me. I looked up to her in so many ways. She tried tirelessly to teach me how to play volleyball, throw a football and shoot a basketball. Her patience was infinite. We spent countless hours playing HORSE, riding bikes up and down the street, roller skating, jumping on pogo sticks and playing in our forts. When I fell down she picked me up. When I was sad she cheered me up. At my birthday parties and slumber parties, she was always there, smiling and laughing... That is how I remember her. She was always so full of joy. She was so outgoing and seemed to me brave and fearless and always up for an adventure. She was an inspiration to me and to many others. As we grew older, in our teens, we drifted apart, then seeing each other only periodically after high school and through college. As adults our lives no longer overlapped, but even after all this time she has remained in my thoughts and in my heart, the girl next door, my dear and cherishe childhood friend, Jody.

To the Englehard and McDaniel families, I extend my most sincere condolences. You are all in my thoughts. I can only imagine what a wonderful, loving and caring wife mother she was. I am so sorry for your loss. She will be missed by many. Love, Terri
