Joseph James Moravec

Joseph James Moravec (39 years old), passed away on May 12th, 2006, in Phoenix, Arizona. Joe was born in Havre de Grace, Maryland on September 19th, 1966. He is survived by his wife, Sue from Phoenix Arizona; mother, Alice; two brothers, Frank and Bruce, and sister, Mary. His father, James Joseph preceded him in death. Joe was a very special uncle and was very proud of his six nephews and two nieces and had many extended family and close friends. Joe was raised in Aberdeen, Maryland and in 1979 moved to Yuma, Arizona where he graduated from Kofa High School and attended Arizona Western College. In 1989 he graduated from the University of Arizona, College of Pharmacy and it was there where he became a lifelong U of A Wildcats fan. As a pharmacist, he practiced in Yuma and Phoenix and will be missed for his compassion and service to his patients. His passion was baseball. His favorite teams were the Orioles, Diamondbacks and Padres, and his favorite players were Cal Ripkin Jr. and Tony Gwynn. Joe's other interests were traveling with Sue, music, sports, dim sum and a great cigar with the guys. Joe was everyone's very best friend and he was happiest when he could do something for others. He took care of everyone around him, and was the epitome of putting others first. This included daily trips to the dog park for his beloved dogs. The memorial tribute to Joe will be Friday May 19th at 7:00 p.m. at the Moravec home and funeral services Saturday May 20th, at 9:00 a.m. at St. Paul's Catholic Church; 330 W. Coral Gables, Phoenix, AZ. Arrangements have been entrusted to Shadow Mountain Mortuary (602) 971-7350 and donations to any Humane Society are welcome.
