Kathleen "Susan" Lein

1947 - 2015

Kathleen "Susan" Lein 67, passed away peacefully into the Lord's loving arms on May 7, 2015 surrounded by family and a compassionate medical team at Banner University Medical Center in Tucson. Susan was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on May 17, 1947 and moved to Tucson in 1994. She graduated from West Allis Central High School in 1965 and obtained an Associate's degree in Social Services from Milwaukee Area Technical College. Susan devoted herself to a career in human resources and later as a loving caregiver and respite provider to disabled adults and the elderly. Susan was an active member of New Testament Baptist Church in Tucson. She was a passionate animal lover and a volunteer with Special Olympics of Arizona and ArtWorks - a community outreach program helping individuals with disabilities reach their artistic potential. Susan will be remembered for her infectious and jovial laugh, her charitable heart, her love of family, and her faith in people and Jesus Christ. She is survived by her son, Kenneth Johnson of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; daughter, Christine (Andrew) House of Maryland, and granddaughters, Caroline, Catherine and Ellen; brother, Michael Lein of Tucson; sister and best friend, Sandra Lein of Tucson; brother, Daniel (Cindy) of Kenosha, Wisconsin and nephews, Michael and Jacob; Tom Duerksen, thoughtful friends, and a caring church family. Susan was preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Ethel (nee Cherney) Lein and her brother, Kenneth Lein. A Memorial Service will be held at New Testament Baptist Church at 2855 N. Craycroft Road in Tucson, Arizona on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at 5:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Special Olympics of Arizona - MOCHA Team.
