Kelela Moberg Obituary

My name is Jack Moberg. My daughter Kelela Ruth Moberg passed away in San Francisco on October 27, 2024. Kelela was born in Long Beach, CA on June 6, 1973.

I live in Green Valley, AZ, with my wife Susan who is Kelela's stepmother. Kelela's mother Leanna Howard, and her sister Charlesa Determan live in Marana AZ.

Kelela graduated from CDO High School in 1991. She had many friends at CDO among them were Jenene and Kim. Kelela worked at Frys in the Pharmacy Department before and after graduation. In time she made the move to San Francisco. There, she worked twenty-two years in the Pharmacy Department at Kaiser Pharmaceutical. She enjoyed her work and coworkers; Kelela served them as their Union Steward. Kelela enjoyed sports, played softball and was a softball umpire. Susan and I were "groupies" following her up and down the west coast cheering her on. She had many friends in SF and some of her closest were Beth, Jay, Belle and Chantel.

The day Kelela passed she was watching San Francisco 49ers beat the Dallas Cowboys. Her landlord found her on her recliner after getting no response at her door and alerted authorities. She had a blood clot and did not suffer.

Kelela also had a rescue dog named Cree, who was eleven years old. Cree is living with us in Green Valley and getting acclimated to the change of climate.

Why is it so late writing this obituary? This is the worst thing to happen to our family. She wasn't ill, was in good health, loving life, work, friends, her dog, phone calls and text messages. It is time to put words on paper and tell you about our Kelela.

RIP Kelela. This is beautifully written. Your daughter was someone to be proud of. I couldn´t imagine what it´s like burying a child. I could understand why it took so long to write this. I´m sure she would love it. Take care.
