Linda Delores Free Evans

Linda Evans Obituary

Linda Delores Free Evans 80, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loved ones, October 31, 2006. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack O. Evans. They leave behind five children, Sonia, Ray, Gary, Darryl and Diedra. Also, eight grandchildren and two great- grandchildren. Linda was born in Sinaloa, Mexico, October 16, 1926. She left at a very young age to live in Tucson, but found her way back home to Mexico in her late teens, which she entered into a convent, devoting her very young life as a Missionary Nun. She was courageous and through this strength she traveled many miles to help the very poor and ill. The ill included those shunned by society due to leprosy. You were such a warm human being, Mom (MeeMa) guiding in your unique way, with such profound love. You were an open book because of your intense interest and curiosity for: different cultures, religion, law and your heart was open to all. We often said, "You need to write a book." Well, you were. We found a 589 page book you were writing all by hand! You were a poet, and artist (mostly Comics) a writer, a wonderful teacher, but most of all you were a giving, loving Mom. Always needing to know that everyone was OK before you could rest. Your beautiful light will always shine. A beacon of love and hope forever. You are so very missed, but know you will never be forgotten. We will always be guided by your strong will and strength. A private family memorial service will be held. Arrangements by HEATHER MORTUARY 322-6131.
