M. Qureshi Obituary

QURESHI, M. Mohsin, died on Tuesday, October 6, 2009. He was born in Naba State, India on April 15, 1930. After the Partition of India in 1947 Mohsin and his family moved to Karachi, Pakistan, where he attended college and received a Bachelor's degree in civil engineering. In 1956, he came to the U.S. to the University of Michigan where he earned a Master's in civil engineering. For just about all of his career, Mohsin worked for Harza Engineering Company in Chicago, IL. This company specialized in water resources - irrigation and hydroelectric projects all over the world. Mohsin is survived by his wife, Shama/Sandra; sons, Arif (Planes, France) and Omar (Magdalena, NM). Other surviving relatives are his grandson, Jai; his sister, Perveen and his brother, Shamim. In 1996, after a distinguished career in engineering, Mohsin retired and moved to Tucson with his wife. They lived in Saddlebrook for eight years; there Mohsin enjoyed tennis, table tennis, hiking and volunteer work. In 2005 the Qureshis moved to Santa Catalina Villas in Tucson. They both have devoted much time and effort to helping refugees from many parts of the world resettle in Tucson. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Noor Women's Association, 3401 E. Linden St., Tucson, AZ 85716-3239. This is the charity closest to the hearts of the Qureshi family.

Sandy and family,
I am so sorry for your loss. Our family will always remember Mohsin's willingness to play table tennis with my father-in-law, Frank, when he was struggling with Alzheimer's Disease.
May your memories of good times sustain you at this time.
Fondly, Lisa Secan
