Marianne Kraft Obituary

KRAFT, Marianne Moclair, entered this world on August 12, 1944 in Bronx, New York and left this world peacefully at the age of 66 on November 2, 2010. She fought a long and at times very difficult battle with cancer with amazing grace and courage. She stayed positive and kept her wonderful sense of humor to the very end. All who were alongside Marianne during her final journey were amazed and blessed by her strength, courage, humor and optimism. She reached out to others even when she was having a difficult time herself and could always put a smile on someone's face and make them feel special and cared about. She will be missed deeply by many family, friends, and even casual acquaintances. Many will especially miss her homemade pies which were the best in the world. She joins those who went before her, including her husband and love of her life, Gary Kraft; her parents, Holly and Joseph Moclair; her brother, Joseph Moclair, as well as her grandparents and many friends. She leaves behind her daughters, Teresa (Steve) Merrick and Christine (Erica) Kraft and her son, Gary Kraft as well as grandsons, Shawn Merrick, Cole Kraft, Carter Kraft and granddaughters, Kirsten and Courtney Freeh. Her grandchildren were the light of her life and she spent many hours with them going out for pizza, watching them swim, making cookies, picking pumpkins and many other fun activities. She leaves her best friend, Shona (David) Naccarati with whom she had a long and very special friendship. Her children wish to thank Shona for her love and support during their mother's illness, without which the journey would have been much more difficult for Marianne and her family. Marianne also enjoyed her aqua aerobics group at Gold's Gym and had many fun times with all her "swim friends". The family wishes to thank them for all their support as well, especially her very good friends, Frieda and Phil and Phyllis. A very heartfelt appreciation and gratitude goes out to all the wonderful and caring staff at UMC Home Health and Casa de la Luz Hospice who took care of Marianne during her final days. Marianne would want us all to live our lives to the fullest and never take one day or any of our loved ones for granted. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be sent to the Community Food Bank or the Arizona Cancer Center. Memorial Service will be held at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Avalon Chapel, 8090 N. Northern Ave. on Friday, November 12, 2010 at 12:00 noon with reception to follow at Marianne's house. All are welcome to come celebrate the joy of Marianne's life with her family.
