Robert Groves Obituary

Robert Bruce Groves 1/19/1940 - 10/5/2015 It is with sadness that Bruce departed this world too soon when he passed away October 5, 2015 after a four month battle with cancer. He was born in Phoenix, AZ and joined the Navy upon high school graduation, serving for two years and never giving up his love of the sea. For the remainder of his career, he worked for Xerox Corp in Tucson and Salt Lake City. He returned to Tucson upon retiring with Linda, his wife of 37 years. Bruce is also survived by his children, Julie (husband George Escalante), and Ken (wife Lora), two grandchildren, Ariel Escalante and Simone Groves and a sister, Carol Henderson. He and his wife loved to travel the world including Asia, Africa, Central and South America and many countries in Europe, with wildlife safaris in Kenya and Tanzania possibly his favorite. Bruce has declined a memorial service and requested his ashes be scattered at sea by the Navy. Donations in his name may be given to the World Wildlife Fund, PO Box 97180, Wasn, DC 20090.
